I have a confession. I’m an upbeat, annoyingly happy person who LOVES to smile. In fact, my smile is often the first thing my friends compliment me on! But lately, I’ve noticed that my neutral facial expression occasionally doesn’t mirror that “cheerful” me. You may have heard of the phenomenon called RBFS or Relaxing Bitchy Face Syndrome. Well, I’m pretty sure I suffer from it (& apparently so do many celebrities)!
I first noticed it after a water exercise class in Mexico when my mom asked me, “What’s wrong?” The question caught me off guard because what could possibly be wrong when I’m in Cancun? But apparently, my face looked unhappy throughout the entire class. I couldn’t believe it, the whole time I was actually thinking this is such a great workout, I LOVE the sun! If you’re like me and you also suffer from RBFS, keep reading to learn a few tips to put your best face forward and turn this negative trait into a positive one!
Check out your facial expression. Get in the habit of routinely looking at yourself to see what “default” face you’re showing. Do you need to adjust your look?
Pay attention to what your “default” face feels like. Do your muscles relax into a natural frown or are your eyebrows tense?
Develop and practice a new resting expression. Aim for a positive and friendly persona. Maybe a slight smile or opening up your eyes a bit more will do the trick.
I know. It’s hard work to change your natural expression. But you know what they say, practice makes perfect. And if that’s not working, a little anti-wrinkle cream will eliminate those unwanted frown lines and creases in your forehead.

It’s safe to say that all eyes were on Carrie Underwood at this year’s CMA awards. The country singer and beauty icon rocked the stage with over ten outfit changes! With her incredible sense of style and killer looks, Carrie never disappoints! I honestly loved all of Carries’ outfits throughout the night, but I was able to narrow it down to my top five favorite looks!
On the red carpet, Carrie definitely had the “wow” effect sporting a stunning coral gown with a low neckline and peplum waist. Not to mention, her hair looked incredible with a deep side part and loose curls- absolute perfection.
This colorful dress was by far one of my favorites because of it’s elegant yet fun appeal. I just love the bright colors combined with the soft hues! To match her dress, Carrie’s rosy lips added the perfect pop of color. Speaking of her lips, they look super soft and hydrated! The Orange is the New Black star looked beautiful in this canary yellow gown and short lob. And that red lip color? FABULOUS! I’m obsessed! It looks perfect with her radiant skin. After all, great skin is the best accessory you can bring to an award show.
Emma Roberts
Oh my bombshell! Emma looks stunning with her long, blonde curls swept off to the side paired with this elegant dress. And honestly, I don’t think her skin can get much more perfect – I can’t stop staring! I love how natural she kept her makeup with the dark lashes and rosy lip. Speaking of her lips, they look super hydrated and soft! To get my lips looking like Emma’s, I use my lip treatment every single night before bed. My lips have never been softer!
Sarah Hyland
This was by FAR my favorite dress of the evening – the color and style were both seriously on fleek. Sarah’s hazel eyes look gorgeous with this metallic shadow and natural lip. By the way, can her hair get any cuter?! She’s making me want to chop off my locks. I’m noticing a bright skin trend on the red carpet – how about you? Obviously, the Scandal star makes my top 4 best beauty looks list. Kerry looks so pretty! I’m loving this faux lob with auburn highlights – it’s perfect for fall! She looked like a princess in this super embellished gown. I also like the pop of color her lips bring to her entire look. I read that Kerry uses a cleanser, toner, and eye gelee every single morning and night to keep her skin flawless.

I am SO in love with this long-sleeved leotard that she wore during her On The Run tour last year. AH! Bey looks absolutely gorgeous in this colorful outfit paired with fishnet tights. And her shimmery gold eye shadow makes her look as fierce as ever to top the entire look off.
This is still one of my all-time favorite looks from the Flawless singer. I love this simple side-swept style on the pop diva. She looks so natural! And this color was AMAZING on her skin tone. Speaking of skin, doesn’t Bey’s look fabulous? It’s so glowy and bright! Also, she has no fine lines or wrinkles – I read that Bey LOVES a good eye cream.
Can you say H-O-T?! This black leather bodysuit certainly shows off Bey’s rockin’ bod. The plunging neckline, black netting, and black combat boots make this outfit a serious 10, and the exposed zipper is my favorite part of the whole look. Her loose, messy curls compliment this costume perfectly.

Also, no one can rock a deep side part quite like Cara can – am I right? Her bold brows and smoky eyes looked stunning at the award show, and her skin was my favorite part of all – her skin is always so hydrated! 4. Karlie Kloss
