APPLY YOUR EYELINER LIKE A PRO WITH THESE THREE TIPS

Remember the first time you started using make-up? Did your eyes take on the appearance of a raccoon or your cheeks look like an abstract painting gone bad? Thinking back to my 13-year old self, I cringe at my somewhat horrifying make-up journey. I don’t know about you, but I find it hard to look at those utterly embarrassing throwback pictures! My biggest mistake back then? A heavy dose of eyeliner. Thankfully I’ve learned a thing or two about natural beauty – and can appreciate the art of subtle eyeliner. Keep reading to make sure your flicks are on fleek!

1. Buy the right products

Do your research! What brand of eyeliner will last the entire day and go on effortlessly? My personal favorite is Jane Iredale’s Black eye pencil – simple and sleek with one smooth application.

2. Sit down for the perfect angle

Find a comfortable chair, take a seat and then place a mirror on your lap. While looking slightly down at the mirror, carefully apply your eyeliner in the groove between your lashes and lash line. You won’t believe how easy it is and how amazing it looks!

3. Keep it light on your lower lashes

Unless you’re the lead singer in a heavy metal band, avoid applying a lower lash line that is too thick. For more natural and soft definition, apply a short stroke of color under the outer corner of your lower lashes. Finish it off with a smudging brush, blending the liner in toward the center.

Lastly, it’s important to keep the skin around your eye looking smooth. To eliminate those highly annoying fine lines, use Enza Essential’s Eyebright Intensive Eye Crème.

This year’s Golden Globes red carpet left me feeling inspired thanks to the shining “stars” on display at the event. It was a night full of glamour, beauty, and must-copy styles. The hottest trends I fell in love with? Smoky eyes, big lashes, and radiant skin. So, get your Pinterest boards ready – here are the best beauty looks from the night.

Jennifer Lopez took the red carpet to a whole new level when she stepped out in this gorgeous yellow gown. I love how she stayed true to her signature sexy style but added the elegant cape detail to this flattering form-fitting gown. And check out her retro waves, bold lip, and bling — the perfect finish to her already fabulous outfit!

Kirsten Dunst didn’t disappoint with her super sophisticated style. To go with her sultry, plunging velvet dress, she used nude hues on her lips and cheeks then upped the drama by adding dark shades to create stunning smoky eyes.

Want to refresh and brighten your appearance in 2016? Follow these five beauty resolutions and you’ll be well on your way to a new and more confident you.

Use SPF each and every day – even during the winter months. If you dream about maintaining that youthful 20-year-old complexion into your 30’s and 40’s, then bring on the SPF! Not only does it prevent skin cancer, it reduces wrinkles, dark spots, and uneven skin tone. Need I say more?

Never sleep with your make-up on. I know, this can be challenging when we’re exhausted after a long day and just want to fall into bed. To keep skin looking luminous and healthy, remove the day’s dirt and toxins – even if that means stashing facial wipes in your nightstand!

DAZZLE IN GOLD THIS NEW YEARS EVE

Have you found that stunning and striking outfit to ring in 2016? As much as I love the classic black dress with a red lip, I decided to switch it up this year with a cream and gold sequin dress. Still gorgeous AND sporting some sparkle – an absolute must for New Years Eve!

I love the softness of the cream chiffon skirt paired with glamorous gold sequins. Not only is it an elegant color combination, the fitted top creates a super flattering look!

Strappy nude sandals are the perfect complement to the neutral-toned dress. Not too flamboyant – just a timeless and classic look.

For the most kissable lips, I used Jane Iredales Tangerine Lip Gloss, a shiny yet subtle lip color. This is a definite must-apply right before the ball drops!

And before heading out for the night, add a light layer of Enza Essentials Liquid Gold to your face prior to applying concealer and powder. You deserve to treat yourself to a little bit of luxury this special night.

MAKE YOUR PARTY EXIT AS GRAND AS YOUR ENTRANCE

The season for socializing is upon us as our calendars fill with holiday parties and work happy hours. It’s the time for red dresses, glossy lips, smoky eyes and sparkling sequins. We all want to look our best and we usually do when we walk out the door. But, what about after we hit the dance floor, visit the snack bar and sip a glass of champagne? Has your makeup disappeared as fast as Houdini? Follow these 4 makeup tips to look fresh and fabulous all night long!

Gently exfoliate your skin before applying makeup. Most products adhere best to a smooth, clean surface. But, be sure not to over exfoliate!

Don’t forget to prime! It really is the holy grail of long-lasting makeup. Many primers act as pore refiners, color correctors, and oil blockers. Before I go out, I always use Jane Iredale’s Smooth Affair Facial Primer so I can confidently dance the night away. Perfect coverage? Check!

There’s nothing more frustrating than leaving the house with a perfect pout and needing to reapply it an hour later. Problem solved by applying a thin layer of foundation to your lips before your lipstick! My all-time favorite is my Jane Iredale Raspberry Lip Gloss. Want to go a step further? When curling your eyelashes, heat your lash curler with a blow dryer for about five seconds before curling. Your eyelashes will practically mold to the curler. You’ll be thankful you did this when you lock eyes with that adorable guy smiling at you across the room. Flutter away ladies!

VS FASHION SHOW 2015

Need a little beauty and body inspiration? Then look no further than last night’s 2015 Victoria Secret Fashion Show. It was a night full of glowing skin, adorable heels, stunning outfits, and the one-and-only Selena Gomez. In case you missed it, check out my recap of the best beauty moments from the night!

This pinnacle of perfection looked incredible in a colorful corset paired with golden wings. I’m also obsessed with her strikingly flawless complexion. To get a glow like this, try Enza Essentials Sustaining Glow Crème, and you just might wake up feeling like an angel!

This hippie inspired look is one for the books! Who knew ruffles, a bold pattern and heels could look so good? I’m also loving the beautiful, natural wave of her hair! And that look- so fierce!

EIGHT THINGS “BEAUTY” I’M THANKFUL FOR

 

Sister. I love having a sister and couldn’t be more grateful for the friendship we share. We’ve always been super close. Plus, having a second closet to choose from when deciding what to wear is the best feeling ever! Did I also mention I’m thankful for her sharing abilities?!

Curling Wand. Having naturally curly hair is both a blessing and a curse. You never quite know how your curls are going to look in the morning. I can’t tell you how many times my curling wand has saved the day!

Coffee. When it comes to those unbearable 8 a.m classes, coffee is a god send. Not only does it make me appear more human, it acts as my most fashionable accessory on days when I’m rocking yoga pants and an over-sized sweatshirt.

Perfume. Silly I know, but smelling good just makes me happy. I love spraying on my own special scent in the morning or before heading out on that special date!

Enza Products. I’m so grateful for ALL of my Enza Products and for the confidence they have given me to put my best face forward every day. Pimple free equals a happier me!

Shoes. I seriously can’t have enough shoes. Buying a new pair of shoes is like sampling Godiva Chocolates for the first time. Excitement takes over and nothing can stop you from indulging!

Chapstick. I hate to admit it, but I’m a more-than-occasional lip licker. End result… dry, irritated lips. Thank you chapstick for bringing back my smile!

Parents. I’ve learned so much from them over the years. One of the most important life lessons they have taught me, that I believe to be true, is that beauty starts from the inside. A kind, compassionate heart is a beautiful heart!

CARRIE CRUSHES IT AT THE 2015 CMA AWARDS

It’s safe to say that all eyes were on Carrie Underwood at this year’s CMA awards. The country singer and beauty icon rocked the stage with over ten outfit changes!  With her incredible sense of style and killer looks, Carrie never disappoints! I honestly loved all of Carries’ outfits throughout the night, but I was able to narrow it down to my top five favorite looks!

On the red carpet, Carrie definitely had the “wow” effect sporting a stunning coral gown with a low neckline and peplum waist. Not to mention, her hair looked incredible with a deep side part and loose curls- absolute perfection.

This colorful dress was by far one of my favorites because of it’s elegant yet fun appeal. I just love the bright colors combined with the soft hues! To match her dress, Carrie’s rosy lips added the perfect pop of color. Speaking of her lips, they look super soft and hydrated! To get lips like Carrie’s, I’ve been using my Lip Treatment every day and my lips have never been softer!

So, Carrie has great style, an amazing voice, AND knows how to play the guitar? This multi-talented beauty looked super trendy rocking this studded black dress. Can you say gorgeous??

BE UNFORGETTABLE: ROCK THE RED LIP

Red lipstick, if applied the right way, can do wonders with your appearance! It can transform even the most basic black dress into something strikingly chic. This versatile lip is great for a day in the office or a stylish party with friends. These are the kind of lips that will make you forget about looking at a woman’s cute pair of shoes. Who knew that was even possible? Although, it can be tricky to perfect the art of applying it just right. You definitely don’t want to end up looking like that two-year-old from next door that accidentally got into her mother’s make-up. To avoid this mishap, follow my step-by-step tutorial so you too will be able to rock the red lip!

First, it’s important to start with a lip moisturizer to maintain healthy, nourished lips. I love Enza Essentials Lip Treatment because it is super long lasting. So, unlike chapstick, you don’t have to re-apply it every five seconds allowing you to keep your red lip intact even longer!

Next, find the perfect shade. If your complexion is prone to redness, use a sheer, blue-based color. Medium skin ladies are incredibly lucky- you can pretty much pull off any hue! For darker skin, choose reds with a brown base. Since my skin type is medium and slightly prone to redness, I’m using Jane Iredale’s Crimson Lip Pencil!

Using your pencil, start by drawing a diagonal line from the top of your lip till you reach the bottom of the other side. Do the same thing on the other side to create an X-shape. Next, trace the bottom edge of your lower lip to create a line that is equal in width to the X-shape above. Following this, add four smaller lines closer to the outer edges of your lips. Then proceed to connect all lines to outline the entire lip. Now that you have your basic shape, fill it in! Finish with a gloss and voila! You’re ready to rock a bold, red lip!
