REVEAL YOUR ROMANTIC SIDE THIS VALENTINE’S DAY

Chalk it up to another Hallmark holiday to give us yet another excuse to dress and look our very best. Is there a better time to break out that cute outfit than Valentine’s Day? I don’t think so! Whether you’re going out on a romantic date with your sweetheart or hitting the town with your besties, here are five tips to knock your look out of the ballpark.

Proper exfoliating is the key for smooth, soft, touchable skin. I use a gentle scrub like Enza Essential’s Shea Butter Body Polish – it makes me feel like I just stepped out of an extravagant spa. Your special guy will be singing his own version of “Reach out and touch, somebody’s hand.”

12742669_10208699933881670_9138810139116101741_n

Moisturize for even softer skin. Immediately after showering, apply a heavy moisturizer to reenergize your dry and thirsty skin. I like my Enza Essential’s Shea Body Butter which keeps my skin feeling fresh all night long!

Go for a natural, romantic hair-do (aka channel your inner Victoria Secret Angel). The last thing you want is your guy being afraid to mess up your perfect do. If your hair is long, try using a one-inch curler to create those perfect and effortless loose curls. Hello touchable, sexy hair!

Perfect those kissable lips. Exfoliate your lips with a scrub like Jane Iredales Sugar and Butter Lip Scrub. Then, apply your favorite lip balm and top it off with a pink or plum lip gloss.

Make a statement with a favorite scent. How a girl smells can be just as powerful as how she looks. For Valentine’s Day, opt for a soft, luxurious scent then apply a drop to your wrists and neck. Don’t overdo it though!

Have a lovely Valentine’s Day, Beauties!

FRESHEN UP FOR FALL

Wow – I can’t believe it’s already September! With fall officially here, you want to look and feel refreshed. Unfortunately, you may have noticed your skin seems a little duller than usual. Thanks to summer’s extreme heat, lots of dead skin, sweat, and bacteria have accumulated on your face and body. What’s the quickest way to an instant “glow”? Exfoliation.

Scrubs 3

Exfoliating is one of the most beneficial things you can do for your skin. It’s SO important to rid your skin of bacteria and dirt regularly. If you’re not exfoliating, those nasty pollutants may be irritating acne and blemishes, and could be increasing your chances of acne scarring!

Scrubs 2

When choosing the right exfoliator, it’s important to use one product for your body and another for your face, as the skin on your face and neck are thin and more sensitive than the rest of your body. For your body, I recommend using Enza Essentials Shea Butter Body Polish – it effectively softens, hydrates, and revives your skin while sloughing off dead, dry cells.

Scrubs 1

When it comes to your face, it’s the same idea. However, because the skin on your face is more sensitive and we are much more cautious of acne and blemishes, it’s important to use an exfoliator with natural rice, grains, and oats that will act as a masque to gently and effectively absorb the unwanted acne-causing oils. The natural ingredients will also work to polish away those impurities caused by summer sweat or sun damage and leave your face looking bright and refreshed. Enza Essentials Fine Facial Polish does an amazing job and smells great, too!

Do you exfoliate regularly? -xo Kayla

END OF SUMMER DUO

I hate to say it, but summer is quickly coming to an end. And if you’re like me, you’ve tried to spend every last second possible outdoors in the sunshine and warm weather. Unfortunately, this can take a SERIOUS toll on skin, especially if you haven’t been protecting yourself properly. But no worries! I have the perfect duo to repair your summertime skin.

IMG_9085

Enza Essentials Shea Body Butter and Shea Butter Body Polish are my go-to products for keeping my skin hydrated and moisturized after the hot summer months. The Shea Butter Body Polish smooths away dulling, dry skin cells with Dead Sea salt. I use mine in the shower for a super relaxing experience! After I’m done, I apply my Shea Body Butter immediately after to trap in extra moisture and give my skin a soft, silky feel. This duo seriously smells like heaven – lavender, vanilla and shea butter make the ideal combination of scents!

BLOGGER LOVE

I’ve officially been part of the blogging world for over a year now and I seriously cannot tell you enough how much I LOVE it! You all are so sweet and amazing – I just want to thank you all a million times over! Here’s a look at some fab bloggers who’ve been using Enza products and want to share their experience with everyone:

Yours Truly Ciera

We are obsessed with the stunning Ciera of Yours Truly, Ciera! Here’s what she had to say about our products: “I haven been trying Enza Essentials for several weeks, and have noticed my skin is softer, even, and moisturized (which is a big deal when you live in a dry place like New Mexico!). I highly recommend their SPF 30 daily moisturizer, especially for these Summer months to protect your skin! Their products, unlike many other products, have a good smell too!”

Lulu Linden

Audrey of Lulu Linden is head-over-heels for the Fine Facial Polish and Sustaining Glow Creme:

“The face wash and toner are great staples, but the Facial Polish and Glow Creme that are a part of my night process are a-freaking-mazing. The polish felt like it was gently buffing away the grossness of the day and the creme just felt like silk kissing my skin, seriously.”

To Be Bright

How adorable is Tilden of To Be Bright?! Her review post was SO amazing – you definitely need to check it out! Her new BFF’s? Body Gel and Body Polish. “So I started using these two while showering – The Shea Butter Body Gel & The Shea Butter Body Polish– and physically eliminated that dry skin feeling post shower within one use. Plus the scents of lemon, lavender and vanilla make it hard not to use them so the chances of me forgetting to do so is slim to none.”

The Desert Mermaids

Here’s what Justine of The Desert Mermaids had to say: “I love the way my skin is looking, and the fact that the whole line uses natural oils makes me feel like I’m not damaging my skin further with harsh, unnatural chemicals.” Read her full review here!

DRY BRUSHING: WHY YOU SHOULD START DOING IT

You’ve probably heard the term before, but do you actually know what dry brushing is? No, I don’t mean brushing your hair when it’s not wet, either. If you’d like to know how to get smoother and brighter skin, keep reading!

thumbs_72079-DryBrushing.jpg.660x0_q80_crop-scale_upscale

Dry brushing is a fabulous way to exfoliate your body and improve circulation. You want to use a brush that looks like one you hang in the shower, but has stronger bristles made from cactus. When you dry brush regularly, your body lotions and creams will absorb better into the skin, resulting in longer-lasting moisture.

Another amazing benefit of dry brushing? Your skin will actually become firmer. When you dry brush every other day, your circulation will improve dramatically, causing more blood to flow to your cellulite-prone areas. Your skin tone and texture will be much smoother, too!

DSC_0013

Not sure what to do? Start at your feet and work your way up the backs of your legs to your neck using gentle, sweeping strokes in an upward motion. The best time to dry brush is right before you shower so you feel invigorated and refreshed. Also, if your skin is feeling sore, you’re pushing too hard – lighten up!

And remember to finish your body rejuvenation in the shower with Enza Essentials Shea Butter Body Polish!

HOW TO PREPARE SKIN FOR A PERFECT SUNLESS TAN

With Memorial Day behind us and summer officially in full-swing, it’s time to show a little skin, ladies! We all know how bad sunbathing and indoor tanning beds are for our skin, so it’s best to reach for that self tanner to keep skin looking young and healthy. If you’re planning on getting your glow on this summer, here are skin-prepping tips to consider before applying your self tanner:

Exfoliate.

ZDS_0867

In my opinion, this is the most important thing to do before applying a self tanner. When you exfoliate your body, you slough off all the nasty, built-up dead skin that’s just hanging out in your pores, making it easier for the tanner to absorb. Also, when your skin is clean and free of dead skin, your tan will be much less streaky and blotchy, giving you an overall better appearance. Enza Essentials Shea Butter Body Polish is perfect for exfoliating skin before applying a self tanner, as it hydrates skin while calming inflammation.

Shave legs.

woman shaving legs with shaving cream and razor

Did you know that shaving actually exfoliates your skin too? (Be sure to check out my post on 3 ways to use your razor) You want your skin to be as smooth as possible, so be sure to say goodbye to unwanted hair. It’s also important that you don’t wax right before you apply self tanner – wait at least 24 hours after you’ve waxed before applying your bronze glow.

Dry completely.

towel

This may seem like common sense, but be sure that your skin is completely dry and clean before self tanner application. If your skin is moist, the tanner will slide right off your skin, resulting in no tan and a waste of your time and money. Also, don’t apply moisturizer anywhere else besides your elbows, knees, and heels – these dry spots tend to absorb too much tanner and can get too dark.

SPRING TRENDS I’M LOVING

I seriously cannot believe that it’s already Wednesday today – AND April Fool’s Day! Hopefully you didn’t fall for too many practical jokes.. Ha! Here are some of my favorite spring trends that I’m loving right now:

Girly sneakers.

ZDS_1257

Every girl needs a pair of practical shoes that are SUPER cute, right? That’s why I cannot get enough of all the feminine sneakers I’ve been seeing this season. I’m obsessing over my newest shoe purchase – these Rocket Dog Penny White Eyelet shoes I found ON SALE! Best day ever.

Self-tanner.

ZDS_1259

Warmer weather means showing off a little more skin, and who doesn’t want a little sun-kissed glow? We all know how bad the sun is for our skin, but that doesn’t mean we have to be pasty white either! My favorite self-tanner is Jane Iredale’s Tantasia – it’s super moisturizing and doesn’t smell horrible.

SKINTIP: Be sure to exfoliate your skin before applying self-tanner, as it will look much more natural and even. Try using Enza Essential’s Shea Butter Body Polish in the shower!

Yellow.

Fluorescent_Yellow_Fergie_Pumps

This bright color has been the talk of spring and I couldn’t be ANY happier with it. Yellow is one of my favorites! After that cold and snowy winter we all had, nothing adds more prettiness and fun to an outfit like a pop of yellow.

‘No makeup’ makeup look.

ZDS_1261

The natural, makeup-free beauty look is a super hot trend this spring that is making a big statement. BB Creams and Tinted Moisturizers are getting lots of attention, along with clear skin. But, when isn’t flawless skin a trend?? To help you and your skin look amazing without makeup, be sure to invest in a great cleanser, toner, and moisturizer, and use them everyday in the morning and at night!

Messy braids.

ZDS_1260

Braids are ALWAYS at the top of my trends list, but especially this spring! I love how versatile this hairstyle is – you can wear a braid to work during the day or rock one in the evening for a chic date night look. And my motto is: the messier the braid, the better. The “undone” hair trend is HUGE this spring and I’m completely loving it!

4 REASONS YOU NEED TO EXFOLIATE

If the term exfoliation isn’t already in your vocabulary, it’s time to start using it on a regular basis, ladies. You’ve heard me go on and on about how important exfoliating your skin is and why you should be doing it on a regular basis. If you need a few more reasons as to why you should slough off those dead skin cells, you’ve come to the right place!

ZDS_1242

Helps fight acne.

If your skin is prone to breakouts, you definitely want to start exfoliating on the reg. When you don’t exfoliate, dry and damaged skin cells build up on your face, causing your pores to clog and zits to form. I myself have oily skin and am prone to acne, which is exactly why Enza’s Fine Facial Polish is my true life saver – I use it 3 times a week and my skin has never been softer or more clear.

Products absorb better.

If you never exfoliate, I honestly can’t imagine how much dead skin is built up on your face – YUCK! And how are your moisturizers and serums supposed to work with all that junk in the way? With regular exfoliation, your products absorb into your skin better, along with a smoother application of your foundation!

ZDS_1233

Anti-aging benefits.

Unfortunately, the older we get, the more fine lines and wrinkles we find creeping up (bummer, I know). But, sloughing off dead skin helps get you a smoother, brighter, and more vibrant complexion, making your skin look more youthful than ever. Enza Essentials Saturation Aloe Scrub is perfect for hydrating rough skin while polishing away dull cells.

SKINTIP: Not only does your face need exfoliation, but your body too! This helps you get a closer shave, a smoother wax, and a more even spray tan. Try using Shea Butter Body Polish in the shower for the softest skin you’ve ever had.

ZDS_1238

Shrinks large pores.

Not only does regular exfoliation slough off dead skin cells, but it also removes dirt and bacteria deep down in your pores. When your pores are clogged with all of that nasty stuff, it stretches them out, making them look like the size of the Grand Canyon. NO ONE WANTS PORES THE SIZE OF THE GRAND CANYON! Just another reason to polish your skin on the regular…

SKIN PREP FOR VALENTINE’S DAY

Valentine’s Day is getting so close that I can almost smell the oversized chocolate hearts and bouquets of red roses – it’s only 4 days away! If you’ve got a date with your significant other or hitting the town with your girls, it’s a must to have your skin V-Day ready. Here’s how I’ll be prepping my skin for the big night!

ZDS_0870

To look fabulous for the day of love, it’s super important to rid off dead cells that have built up on your skin. That’s exactly why the night before Valentine’s Day, I’ll be using my Extraction Enzyme Peel to brighten my complexion. I simply apply a thin layer all over my skin and leave it on for 15 minutes. This is the perfect amount of time for me to narrow down a few outfit choices too!

ZDS_0867

Soft skin is ideal for any day of the year, but it’s definitely a necessity for Valentine’s Day. Enza Essentials Shea Butter Body Polish is the perfect exfoliant to use on your skin from head to toe. And it smells AMAZING! I use a Magic Mitt from Jane Iredale to apply the Body Polish in the shower. Remember to follow up immediately with the Shea Body Butter for your most touchable skin yet.

ZDS_0876

This specific holiday falls in the dead of winter and unfortunately, that means dry, stressed skin. I want my makeup to have a dewy and fresh look, so I’ll be applying Liquid Gold under my foundation. This product seriously hydrates and rejuvenates skin, while working as a fantastic makeup primer. I can’t live without it!

ZDS_0883

Now it’s time to give my pout a little TLC! Jane Iredale has a super amazing Sugar&Butter Lip Exfoliator/Plumper that works wonders on dry lips. I first use the sugar exfoliant side to get rid of any dead skin, then use the plumper side for a boost of volume and a tingly feel. I’ll finish off with Enza’s Lip Treatment for the most kissable and hydrated lips ever!
