EIGHT THINGS “BEAUTY” I’M THANKFUL FOR

Sister. I love having a sister and couldn’t be more grateful for the friendship we share. We’ve always been super close. Plus, having a second closet to choose from when deciding what to wear is the best feeling ever! Did I also mention I’m thankful for her sharing abilities?!

Curling Wand. Having naturally curly hair is both a blessing and a curse. You never quite know how your curls are going to look in the morning. I can’t tell you how many times my curling wand has saved the day!

Coffee. When it comes to those unbearable 8 a.m classes, coffee is a god send. Not only does it make me appear more human, it acts as my most fashionable accessory on days when I’m rocking yoga pants and an over-sized sweatshirt.

Perfume. Silly I know, but smelling good just makes me happy. I love spraying on my own special scent in the morning or before heading out on that special date!

Enza Products. I’m so grateful for ALL of my Enza Products and for the confidence they have given me to put my best face forward every day. Pimple free equals a happier me!

Shoes. I seriously can’t have enough shoes. Buying a new pair of shoes is like sampling Godiva Chocolates for the first time. Excitement takes over and nothing can stop you from indulging!

Chapstick. I hate to admit it, but I’m a more-than-occasional lip licker. End result… dry, irritated lips. Thank you chapstick for bringing back my smile!

Parents. I’ve learned so much from them over the years. One of the most important life lessons they have taught me, that I believe to be true, is that beauty starts from the inside. A kind, compassionate heart is a beautiful heart!

What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?

Happy Thanksgiving Beauties!

THANKSGIVING FOODS FOR BETTER SKIN

Thanksgiving is tomorrow and you know what that means – time to fill your belly up with a HUGE turkey dinner! Unfortunately, this isn’t always so good on your waistline or your skin. But there are a few foods with amazing skin benefits that you should take a second helping of!

Sweet Potatoes

Twice Baked Sweet Potatoes; The Neelys

These potatoes can be considered the superfood of Thanksgiving dinner. They’re loaded with Vitamin A, the antioxidant that keeps your skin looking young, fresh, soft and smooth. They also have lots of Vitamin C, which protects your skin from damaging free radicals. So fill up on sweet potatoes this year! (But try to skip the marshmallows and brown sugar…)

Brussel Sprouts

Whether you love or hate these tiny little green heads, there’s no doubt about it that they’re SO good for your skin. Brussel sprouts contain high levels of Vitamin C to make your body and skin look and feel better. They’re also full of anti-inflammatory properties to calm any redness on your face.

Squash

Butternut squash is a fabulous way to get more Vitamin A. This will help keep your skin’s pH balance on track and promote cell turnover.  Who knew Thanksgiving dinner would bring you better skin??

Cranberries

Oh how I love cranberries. These tart little berries are a great way to boost collagen production in your face, protecting you from fine lines and wrinkles. Cranberries are also full of antioxidants to better your body and skin.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! -xo Kayla

WHAT I’M THANKFUL FOR

With Thanksgiving less than a week away, I want to take a step back and think about everything I’ve been blessed with in my life so far. I have SO MANY things to be thankful for, but here’s a few things that make the top of my list:

My parents. They are my biggest supporters. I honestly cannot thank them enough times every single day. I can’t wait to see them over the holidays!

My big brothers. Not only do they protect me from just about anything and everything, they are two of the coolest dudes I’ve ever met. I wouldn’t trade them for anything!

Chocolate. I just can’t be thankful enough for cocoa. I don’t care what flavor, shape, or form it comes in, I love it all. Yummy.

My travels. I am so grateful for all the places I’ve been given the opportunity to travel to in my life so far. There really isn’t an experience quite like visiting another part of the world. Just this past September I visited Paris and it was AMAZING.

My Enza products. I am so in love with these products that it actually hurts. Ever since I’ve started using Enza Essentials, my skin has changed in the best way, and I can’t be thankful enough.

My dog Miller. He is my pride and joy. The greatest dog ever. Okay, I may be a little biased. But it’s true!

Coffee. Wow am I ever thankful for coffee! Especially on Monday mornings. I can’t get enough.

THANKSGIVING OOTD

IMG_4264

Oh my gosh, it’s that time of year again! The leaves have officially fallen from the trees and the wind is a bit more chilly as it scoots as along our way. That means Thanksgiving is right around the corner! Now, I’m not a fan of cold weather but I do love a good cozy outfit. What better holiday to spruce up your sweater and scarves for that chic & comfy look?

IMG_4265y.jpg

To me, fall is always about the colors. So, for my holiday inspired look I chose to center it around a fabulous army green jacket I bought last year. I then paired the jacket with an unlikely friend – my maroon slacks with the gold zippers. Add a knit sweater (by Lauren Conrad of course) and an oversize scarf, and I was Thanksgiving ready!

In my family this is one of the more relaxed holidays so I took full advantage of the I-may-be-casual-but-I’m-cute style that knits offer. Plus it was easy to pair this outfit with my brown leather wedges to add a bit of holiday charm. Thanks to http://loveniki.wordpress.com/ for having the wonderful idea of getting different bloggers to show our Thankgiving fashion! Check her out.
