SPRING BRIDAL MAKEUP TRENDS

It’s beginning to look a lot like… wedding season! Whether you’re saying “I do” or just going to cheer on the bride and groom, here’s a look at this season’s bridal trends that you can guarantee to be walking down the aisle!

Bright, vibrant skin.

Nothing says beauty quite like a bride with glowing skin. This trend was super prominent on the runway this season – every bride had polished and effortless-looking skin. To prep your complexion for your big day, be sure to keep up with your skincare regimen by washing, toning, and moisturizing your face every morning and night.

Soft smokey eye.

This dreamy look is sure to be seen on brides everywhere this wedding season. Although you may not think of black eye liner as a bridal look, this subtle smokey eye makes it softer and less dramatic. Jane Iredale’s Mystikol liner is perfect at creating this chic look AND lasts all day long – even through the tears!

Coral lips and cheeks.

How gorgeous is this flushed look?? The best part about coral is that it actually looks great on all skin tones, so any bride can pull it off! It gives such a warm glow to skin, making any bride look flawless. And coral on the pout gives just the right amount of color without looking too bold. Keep an eye out for this beauty trend at the next wedding you attend!

BEST BEAUTY LOOKS: GOLDEN GLOBES 2015

In case you missed what the buzz is all about today, last night aired the 2015 Golden Globes. The Red Carpet was filled with chic trends, retro curls, and several metallic gowns. Here are my top five favorite looks from the evening:

Jennifer Lopez

jlo

I just don’t understand how JLo literally gets more beautiful with age. Seriously! She looked absolutely stunning in this metallic plunging neckline gown and diamond accessories. Her dark smokey eye makes her look fierce as ever and her skin is actually perfect. I also love the nude lip because it doesn’t distract from all the other hotness going on with her look. A++ for you JLo!

Jessica Chastain

Jessica shines bright in this dark gold shimmer dress with similar gold eyes. And the retro over-one-shoulder curls look seriously glam on her too. Her skin looked Red Carpet ready as well – her complexion is so smooth and bright. Try using Enza’s Vitamin C Serum to improve the tone and texture of your skin.

Chrissy Teigen

Chrissy looked gorgeous on the Red Carpet last night in this long-sleeve white embellished gown. I love that her hair was pulled up into a sleek ponytail, showing off her flawless skin. Her makeup was minimal and natural looking because honestly, why would anyone want to hide a complexion like that? Both her and her skin were glowing all night.

Julianne Moore

72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards - Arrivalsrs_634x1024-150111162058-634-golden-globes-julianne-moore-.ls.11115

I am OBSESSED with this dress. Who would have ever thought that metallic and feathers would look this amazing with each other – And can we also talk about the fact that she’s 54 and has skin like that? Julianne looked beautiful last night with a subtle smokey eye and delicate waves. To keep your skin looking young like Julianne’s, use Tri-Peptide Cell Activator to protect your skin cells from aging.

Allison Williams

Can you say perfection?! Allison looked so gorgeous last night at the awards show in this red gown paired with vintage curls and a dark smokey eye. Her bold brows tie the entire look together, making her a serious stunner on the Red Carpet. I’m also completely mesmerized by her skin and how radiant it is!

NYE MAKEUP INSPIRATION

DSC_0071

New Year’s Eve is known for glitz, glamour, and all things that sparkle. When it comes to makeup, I usually stick to neutral colors (brown, beige, gold) but NYE is the perfect opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and add some festive color! Here’s a super simple and chic makeup look to ring in 2015:

DSC_0074

I ALWAYS start with my brows. It’s a necessity. I’m using Jane Iredale’s Bitty Brow Kit in Brown.

Next, using Jane Iredale’s Smoke Gets in Your Eyes Eye Shadow Kit, I apply the Sheer Gold color across my lids. I’m in love with this combination of colors, so I’m sure you’ll see me use this Shadow Kit again in the near future.

Then, I color in my crease with the Aubergine color in this kit. It’s similar to a dark violet and gives my eyes definition with a pop of color.

After I’ve filled in my creases, I use an angle brush to apply the Sizzle color (a shimmery black) as liner under my bottom lash line. Starting at the outside corner of my eye, I draw a line half way across my lash line so it’s not too harsh and doesn’t distract from my colorful eyelids.

I apply this same color to the outside corners of my lids and blend for a smokey eye look.

Almost finished! Using Jane Iredale’s Jelly Jar in Black, I draw a line on my upper lids. Since this is a New Year’s Eve look, I made it a winged line so I’ll look EXTRA fierce. 🙂

Next comes 2 coats of Jet Black mascara!

The final step to complete this NYE look is lipstick – I’m using Jane Iredale’s PureMoist Lip Stick in Brooke for the evening. Have I mentioned lately how smooth my lips are, even with the cold, dry air?? My Enza Essentials Lip Treatment literally works wonders!

And look at that – I’m ready to ring in the New Year! -xo Kayla

BEST BEAUTY LOOKS: TEEN CHOICE AWARDS

The 2014 Teen Choice Awards aired Sunday night and the Red Carpet was hot with celebrities and the latest trends! Here’s my five favorite beauty looks from the night:

Lucy Hale.

Lucy looks stunning in this red dress. The color compliments her lighter skin tone and dark hair. Her makeup is dewy perfection. But when you have skin that clear, it’s easy to look great! I love how bright her eyes look with black eyeliner and mascara, while her nude lip doesn’t distract.

Nina Dobrev.

I always thought the Vampire Diaries star was beautiful, but this look takes it to a whole new level! This metallic and colorful crop top ensemble is super fun, while her side braid makes her look elegant and girly. Nina’s skin is absolutely flawless – it looks so fresh and hydrated. She must drink lots of water and use Hydra Gel!

Kim Kardashian.

Her hair is perfect. Her brows are perfect. Her makeup is (as usual) perfect. When doesn’t she look – how should I say it – perfect? Kim looks fab in this sleek black moto top and skirt. And her skin tops everything! She must use an eye cream to look this good with a 1-year-old running around the house.

Sarah Hyland.

?????????

I’m seriously loving this Modern Family star’s show-stopping look. Her slightly bronzed glow makes her stand out among the others, along with this plunging dress. The smokey eye compliments her green eyes and her skin looks literally like a baby’s. She must take great care of her skin by using SPF.

Taylor Swift.

TaylorSwiftTeenChoiceAwards2014

Ahhhhhh, America’s Sweetheart. I honestly wish I could hang out with her for just a night. She looks so pretty in this mint crop top and skirt combo. (Do I see a midriff-exposed trend??) Her makeup looks fantastic – winged eyeliner and a coral lip is definitely a great look for her. But, I loved when Taylor would embrace her natural curls so I wasn’t too thrilled about her hair for the awards.
